At least 2,000 homes and businesses in northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan are without power on Wednesday, like because of high winds in the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for much of northern and central Indiana.

The weather service says many areas of Indiana are seeing sustained winds of 20 to 35 miles per hour with wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour. The weather service says the winds will make for difficult driving for high-proifle vehicles, especially on east-west roads. It also says some tree damage is possible.
