Student, 23, charged with making threats at Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — A 23-year-old Michigan State University student has been charged in connection with two threats made at the school’s campus in East Lansing.

The Lansing State Journal and WLNS-TV report Friday that Sydney Gort is jailed on a $250,000 bond. She is charged with two counts of making a terrorist threat.

One of the charges stem from a threat found written Tuesday on a wall inside the School of Packaging. The other charge is related to a threat made in April.

Tuesday’s threat forced some classes to be moved to other locations on campus. Gort was arrested Wednesday and arraigned Thursday. She is scheduled to return to court on Dec. 4.

The newspaper reports that Gort was listed as a packaging major. She has been banned from the campus.
