Van Buren County man seriously injured after colliding with a tree

A 19 year old man from Bloomingdale Township was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash.

It happened around 11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to County Road 380, west of 44th Street, in Bloomingdale Township where they found the victim’s pick-up truck, which had collided with a tree, according to a news release from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was ejected from the truck.

The investigation revealed that, for unknown reasons, the vehicle was traveling westbound on CR 380 and then crossed the center line, ran off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, the news release states.
