National Weather Service confirms 4 tornadoes in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The National Weather Service has confirmed four tornadoes touched down in Indiana on Wednesday, two near Indianapolis and two in eastern Indiana.

No injuries were reported. Three were EF-1 tornadoes, the other was an EF-0.

The first tornado with a maximum wind of 100 mph was reported 3:42 p.m. Wednesday near Greenwood, 10 miles south of Indianapolis, damaging three homes. Another with a maximum 107 mph wind was reported at 3:55 p.m. near Noblesville, 15 miles northeast of Indianapolis. It tore off part of a roof on one home and damaged 15 other houses.

Another with winds of 105 mph hit just west of Williamstown in Rush County at 4:13 p.m., destroying a barn and damaging a house. The final tornado, an EF-0, was reported near Fountain City.
