Drive-thru customer hands McDonald’s employee heroin with money in LaPorte, police say

LaPorte police are looking for a McDonald’s customer who police say paid for his food with a small bag of heroin Monday night, according to the South Bend Tribune.

An employee at the Boyd Boulevard McDonald’s said a driver gave him a handful of cash to pay for his food. A small bag was wrapped inside the money, which police say contained a substance that later tested positive for heroin.

The 28-year-old employee said there were two other passengers in the car and the driver seemed intoxicated.

LaPorte Metro Operations Coordinator Harlan Williams said it isn’t likely the driver knew he gave the employee heroin with his money while paying.
