Officials seek name for northeast Indiana trail system

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Officials are looking for a name for a system of hundreds of miles of trails in northeastern Indiana.

WANE-TV reports the system made up of dozens of trails in 10 counties doesn’t currently have a name, and the search has been ongoing for more than two years. The Northeastern Indiana Regional Coordinating Council held a public hearing Thursday night to get ideas and input from the public.

City of Auburn Building and Planning Administrator Bill Spohn said officials have struggled to find a name that would fit all the communities but maintain individual identities on separate trails.

John Bosio with Merje Designs says he hopes to take feedback and have design drafts done by early March.
