A dog that fell through ice into a lagoon at Pinhook Park in South Bend on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 31, is recovering after he was rescued.

The dog, Beau, could barely walk because of the cold when emergency responders got him out of the water, but he soon recovered, the South Bend Tribune reported.

He was at the park with his owner, 76-year-old Dan Mandell.

Mandell called 911 just before 5 p.m. Rescuers had Beau safely out of the water within about 5 minutes of arriving at the park.
