Gelsosomo's Pizzeria opening in South Bend, featuring Chicago-style deep dish pizza and more

Time to shop for a new belt — Chicago-style deep dish pizza is coming to South Bend.

Gelsosomo’s Pizzeria is planning to open up shop in the old Singer Sewing Machine factory at 475 N. Niles Ave. in the East Race neighborhood, the South Bend Tribune reported.

Beyond Chicago-style deep dish ’za, the restaurant offers other styles of pie as well as pasta, sandwiches and a variety of fried food.

There are 11 Gelsosomo’s restaurants in Illinois and northern Indiana and southwestern Michigan. The closest is at 5184 S. Franklin St., Michigan City.

It’s expected to be open by August at the latest.
