South Bend man sentenced to 57 years for molesting young girl

A South Bend man was sentenced to 57 years in prison for three counts of child molestation.

James Kaylor, 65, was convicted in January.

During the sentencing hearing on Monday, Feb. 29, the 14-year-old victim requested that the State read her letter into the record, because she did not think she was emotionally capable of addressing the Court.

In her statement, the victim requested a sentence that would “guarantee that Kaylor cannot hurt anyone else ever again.”

Additionally, the Court determined Kaylor should be required to serve 85 percent of his sentence.
