South Bend residents can now request yard waste containers from city

South Bend residents interested in getting yard waste picked up weekly this year will need to request containers from the city.

Residents can request a 45-gallon or 96-gallon container by calling 311 at a cost of $2 per month from April to November (or $16), when weekly yard waste pick up will take place. The cost will be added to the sewer and water bill.

The city-furnished containers are not required for residents who don’t want weekly yard waste pickup. South Bend residents who use other containers, paper bags or bundles will be able to have up to 200 gallons of yard waste picked up once per month for free.
