The man shot in Elkhart on Sunday night, April 17, has died.

Lavell Evans, 30, was pronounce dead Monday evening, April 18, but will remain on life support until his organs are donated, Sgt. Chris Snyder with the Elkhart Police Department.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place in Kalamazoo on Wednesday.

Marcus Gary, 26, was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted murder on Monday in connection to the shooting.

Snyder said that Gary will be charged with murder once Evans is taken off of life support.
