In the middle of the barbecues and picnics over the weekend, many people in Michiana will be celebrating Memorial Day by attending parades and ceremonies at local cemeteries.

There are at least three parades in St. Joseph County on Monday, May 30.

The Osceola Memorial Day Parade begins at 8 a.m. at the intersection of Osceola Avenue and Lincolnway East. The parade will follow Lincolnway along to Grand Avenue. That section of Lincolnway will close to traffic at about 7:45 a.m.

The South Bend West Side Memorial Day Parade starts at 8:15 a.m. at the corner of Ford and Lombardy streets, near the Navarre Intermediate Center. The parade route will travel down Ford Street and end at the Olive Street intersection.

The Mishawaka Memorial Day Parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday. The route begins at Main and Third streets and heads north. It will turn left on Mishawaka Avenue and end at Battell Park.

See the map below for the parade routes.

A ceremony in memory of service men and women will be at. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend following the West Side parade.
