The man found dead in Bristol early Tuesday morning was identified.

Deshawn Daman Smith, 20, of Elkhart, was found dead with a gunshot wound on State Line Road near Tasha Drive at about 5:30 a.m., Elkhart County Sheriff Capt. Jim Bradberry said.

An autopsy is expected to be scheduled.

Smith’s death remains under investigation.
