PORTAGE, Ind. (AP) — Authorities have identified a man who died after his motorcycle collided with an Indiana State Police patrol car on the Indiana Toll Road near Portage.

A statement from the state police says the crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. Friday when 28-year-old Michael Damore of Highland struck the passenger side of the patrol car while it was making a U-turn just west of the Portage Toll Plaza on Interstate 90.

The statement says trooper Jathan Rose, who was driving the squad car, performed chest compressions on Damore until paramedics arrived. Damore later died at a local hospital.

State police says Damore’s license was suspended and his motorcycle wasn’t registered.
