Man found guilty of murder stemming from Christmas Eve shooting in South Bend

A man charged with the Christmas Eve shooting death of another man at Miami Hills Apartments has been found guilty of murder.

It took a jury just two-and-a-half hours of deliberations on Friday, July 8, to find Bruce Dewayne Thomas III, 24, guilty of murder in the death of Clevee Chick.

A second man, Tyshawn D. Williams, 21, was also previously charged with murder in connection with Chick’s death. Williams was previously ordered held without bond and remains in the custody of the St. Joseph County Jail. He has a pretrial conference on July 19 at 8:30 a.m.

Sentencing for Thomas is scheduled for July 28, 2016, at 9:30 a.m.
