GAS CITY, Ind. (AP) — A Gas City woman has been arrested after authorities say she tried to hire a hit man to kill her husband.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old April Bosworth texted an acquaintance Thursday about hiring a hit man to “take care of her husband.”

Authorities say the acquaintance contacted authorities who set up a meeting early Friday with an undercover officer posing as a hit man.

Police say the officer agreed to carry out the murder for an undisclosed amount of money. Bosworth was taken into custody minutes later and is charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Police have not said why Bosworth wanted to kill her husband.

She is currently in the Grant County jail with a $250,000 bond. It was immediately unclear if she has an attorney.
