A major change in the local television market is about to take effect.
The Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns WSBT Television, has entered into an agreement with WSJV-TV owner Quincy Media to take over WSJV’s current Fox affiliation and programming, according to the South Bend Tribune.
The change will take place on Monday, August 1, The South Bend Tribune reported.
As a result, current programming seen on Fox 28, including The Simpsons, Bones and So You Think You Can Dance, will move to Digital Channel 22.2, currently known as SBT-2, according to WSBT-TV.
To make room for Fox, the weather programming that is currently offered on 22.2/SBT-2 will go off the air, according to WSBT-TV.
WSJV will broadcast programming from the Heroes & Icons network on Channel 28, the South Bend Tribune reported.
As for Fox 28 employees and news staff, some may be transferred to other stations owned by Quincy, some may be hired by Sinclair and others may lose their jobs, the South Bend Tribune reported.

Clear Channel ruined radio, now SBT is doing it to local TV.
How will this affect dish network and direct TV customers?
According to WSBT, Fox TV will be able to be seen on Digital Ch. 22.2, Dish Network Ch. 30 and Comcast Cable Ch 16. They did not mention Direct TV, so you may want to contact them to ask.
