Search underway for suspect who robbed Berrien County truck stop

Police in Berrien County are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect who they say robbed J.D.’s Truck Stop in the 1600 block of Mayflower Road in Bertrand Township.

The robbery took place just after 12 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect, who was armed with a pistol, is described as a white male or light skinned Hispanic male. He is believed to be approximately 5’5” tall with a thin build.The suspect also has a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm. He was wearing a red shirt believed to be a brand called “Famous Stars & Straps”, red pants, and a red & white hat, according to the sheriff’s department.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No injuries were reported.
