Semi hauling lighters overturns in LaPorte County

A semi hauling lighters crashed onto its side on the Indiana Toll Road.

It happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning between mile markers 54 and 55, according to WSBT.

The truck was carrying about 1,700 pounds of small lighters. No leaks were reported, but HAZMAT crews were called out as a precaution.

The driver wasn’t injured. No word on what caused the semi to tip over.
