Suspicious container discovered on Notre Dame campus

Some tense moments on the campus of Notre Dame Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to the call of a suspicious container about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. A passerby found it on the south side of the Galvin Life Sciences Center, according to WNDU.

Indiana State Police joined South Bend Police and campus security officials at the scene. They blocked off the area.

After about 45 minutes, authorities determined the container was not a threat.
