You can relax, Indiana Toll Road drivers. The South Bend exit at the U.S. 20/U.S. 31 exit is not closing Tuesday. Or this year, for that matter.

Work on repaving the South Bend West interchange had been scheduled to take place until Friday, Oct. 14. However, the repaving will now take place in 2017 “due to a variety of factors”, according to a press release.

Officials had wanted the work done before the next University of Notre Dame football game on Oct. 15. However, toll road officials canceled the planned project due to worries it would carry over into the football weekend.

The Valparaiso/Chesterton exit will still be closing Wednesday for repaving. It’ll re-open by Oct. 17.
