Two men are in custody on gun and drug charges after a traffic stop in Elkhart.

Police found three handguns, methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle Thursday. The traffic stop happened at Sterling and East Indiana Avenues, according to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

Police became suspicious when they say they spotted the occupants of the vehicle reaching around as if they were trying to retrieve or hide something.

Police tazed 43-year-old Douglas Flick of Goshen after he allegedly put up a fight. Flick also was armed, according to police. 28-year-old Daniel Rose of South Bend is also facing a slew of charges.

A more detailed search of the vehicle turned up two more guns on the floor under both the driver’s and passenger’s seats, according to the Elkhart Truth.

Police also found 40 grams of meth, more than 6 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
