Thousands in Michiana are not waiting for next week’s election to vote

With a week to go, a lot of Michiana voters are deciding not to wait to cast their ballots.

Thousands of registered voters in St. Joseph County have been taking advantage of early voting, according to WSBT.

One poll worker says that over 13,000 walk-ins and absentee ballots have been accommodated since Oct. 11, stretching the staff thin with hundreds showing up every day. St. Joseph County’s polls are open every day through Election Day.

Around noon Monday, national news outlets were reporting that over 23 million votes have been cast nationwide, with over 11 and a half million of them in 12 battleground states.
