Cass County, Michigan man turns himself in after nearly 10 hour standoff with police

A man in Cass County has turned himself in almost 10 hours after starting a police standoff.

M60 in Cass County had to be shut down from Pine Lake Road to Daily Road while officers dealt with the man, according to ABC 57.

It started with an incident that happened around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. A 32-year-old man approached two women on horseback in his car. After having a conversation with the women, he hit them with his car, according to Michigan State Police.

The women and horses were reportedly ok, though the women did report minor injuries from falling off their horses. One of the women got license plate information and contacted police.

The man locked himself inside his home. He may have had weapons, including long guns. At around 9:30 Wednesday morning, the man turned himself into police peacefully after about a 10 hour standoff.
