A man and woman in their 20s from Dowagiac were killed in a highway crash in Van Buren County, Mich.

The collision happened around 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4 on M-40 just north of 94th Avenue in Porter Township, according to WNDU.

The crash happened when the driver behind the wheel of a car crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a pickup truck, WNDU reported.

At the time of the collision, road conditions were slick.

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
