Benton Harbor High School principal Roger Triplett dismissed

It’s official: Benton Harbor’s Board of Education has dismissed high school principal Roger Triplett.

The move was made at Tuesday night’s board meeting, with the superintendent stating that the board “had no choice” due to the suspension of Triplett’s certification by the state department of education, according to WSBT.

The board cannot legally employ someone who is not certified, and they reportedly learned Monday that Triplett had misrepresented information on his re-certification application. Triplett had been on paid administrative leave since June while allegations of wrongdoing were under investigation.

An interim principal had already been in place for this year.
