One dead, two hurt in four vehicle crash in Marshall County

Four vehicles ended up colliding in Marshall County Wednesday morning, resulting in one dead and two injured.

The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 31 and 12th St. near the Marshall County REMC just outside of Plymouth, according to WNDU.

It started when a vehicle heading eastbound on 12th St. tried to cross U.S. 31. Instead, it hit another vehicle. A third and fourth vehicle each hit one of the two vehicles, which was disabled in the middle of the road.

One person is dead as the result of the crash. Another person had to be airlifted to a hospital. A second victim suffered a broken arm. Two others involved in the crash were not hurt.

One of the vehicles was hauling a horse trailer, but there were no animals in it when the crash happened.

11:31 AM update: Indiana State Police has identified the man who died in the crash as 50-year-old Rodney Gross of Rochester.
