Four apartments affected by fire at complex on Western Avenue in South Bend

Two people had to be helped out of an apartment building that caught fire in South Bend.

Crews from the South Bend Fire Department were called to Westcott Apartments in the 800 block of W. Western Ave. around 1 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31.

On arrival crews saw smoke and flames shooting out of the building, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

A total of four people were inside at the time of the blaze.

Four apartments were affected by the fire, ABC 57 reported.
