A 31-year-old Benton harbor man was hospitalized with serious injuries after being shot.

The shooting happened in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 31, in the parking lot of Smokes Lounge in the 200 block of N. Fair, according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.

The victim is expected to recover.

Benton Harbor Police are being assisted by the Michigan State Police Major Case Unit.
