A LaPorte man has been arrested for the theft of a Toys For Tots donation jar in Dowagiac.
The jar was taken from the front counter of the Shell Mart gas station. Surveillance video and pictures gave the police the opportunity to identify a suspect with the help of tips from the public, according to Fox 17.
The suspect, 30 year-old Michael Ted Doane, waived extradition to Michigan and was lodged at the Cass County Jail. He faces a felony charge of Larceny in a Building, up to 4 years in prison and a five thousand dollar fine.
