Warsaw Community High School senior Mason Metzger spoke to the Indiana House of Representatives on Tuesday.

Diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy at age one, Mason has overcome plenty of challenges, but doesn’t allow his disability to define him.

The speech in front of the Indiana House was organized by Randy Polston of Grace College after listening to Mason speak at the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club. Polston connected Mason with fellow Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Representative David Wolkins who made arrangements with the House. Mason chose the topic of “unity” for his speech.

Mason intends to continue a career as a public speaker after high school and will attend Grace.
