A Dowagiac man is going to prison for at least 25 years after pleading guilty to criminal sexual conduct charges.

Two of the four charges 48-year-old James White Jr. pleaded guilty to involved a child under the age of 13, according to Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz.

The crimes happened at White’s home on Downey Street in Dowagiac in late 2016.

Two other charges of criminal sexual conduct were dismissed, and his four sentences will be run at the same time as part of the plea deal. The two charges involving the child carry a mandatory 25 year prison term, meaning he won’t be eligible for parole.

His sentencing will take place on March 24.
