South Bend firefighters deal with double fire on west side

Fire officials dealt with not one, but two house fires next to one another early Friday morning.

The fires happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday on Bertrand Street near Olive Street on the west side, according to ABC 57.

Neighbors reportedly heard loud bangs, then noticed a fire in one of the homes. The fire spread to the other home.

Both homes are believed to be vacant. No injuries were reported. Investigators are looking for the cause.
