Shooting investigations underway in Elkhart and South Bend

Police in Elkhart and South Bend were busy investigating two separate shootings on Saturday evening, Feb. 4.

Around 6:25 p.m. officers with the Elkhart Police Department were called to the 100 block of West Cleveland Avenue in regards to sounds of gunfire.

On arrival, officers learned the gunshot victim had just arrived at Elkhart General Hospital.

The 37-year-old male victim told investigators he was walking in the area of West Cleveland Avenue and Prairie Street when he was shot.

He treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers at the scene located a bullet hole in the side of 114 West Cleveland Avenue.

As of late Saturday night, there was no suspect information.

Around 9:30 p.m. in South Bend, police were called to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Lindsey Street, where a woman was found with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

There was no word of any suspects or arrests as of late Saturday night.
