InHealth takes over ambulance service in South Bend

One ambulance service has pulled out of the garage in Michiana, and another has already parked there.

Prompt Ambulance had served the South Bend area since 2009, according to the South Bend Tribune.

However, the company is scaling back its service area. As of Sunday, InHealth, Inc. will be picking up the area where Prompt left off.

InHealth is a new ambulance service founded by former Prompt Vice President Ron Donahue and his wife Chrystal. Both of them are also EMTs.

InHealth ambulances are now in service in Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Elkhart and Marshall counties.

InHealth will focus on critical care transport and community paramedicine. They will not be a primary 911 provider.
