A man suspected in a fraud case involving stolen debit cards has been arrested, and St. Joseph County Police say it was the man’s father who turned him in.

Police say Tyler McPhail was taken into custody after his father saw pictures of him taken by surveillance cameras after McPhail used the stolen card at a 7-Eleven, according to ABC 57.

The card owner called police last month to report her vehicle had been broken into and her purse was stolen. Police posted the surveillance shots on Facebook.

The father also told police his son had confided in him he had been breaking into cars and stealing things.
