Three juveniles were hurt, one seriously, after a man accused of driving drunk slammed into their horse and buggy late Saturday.

The crash happened just before midnight on C.R. 600 S east of S.R. 5 in LaGrange County, according to ABC 57.

Officers found that a truck had crashed into the buggy when they arrived. Deputies say the truck was behind the buggy when he attempted to pass it on the left. However, the buggy was attempting to turn left into the driveway and went into the path of the truck.

The driver of the truck, Loren Hostetler, was not hurt. However, he reportedly blew a .13 BAC when officers tested him at the scene. He’s been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury, a level 6 felony, along with other traffic violations.

One of the juveniles was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with serious injuries. The other two juveniles in the buggy were taken to a nearby hospital.
