Indiana-based Muslim group critical of President Trump’s new travel ban

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) — An Indiana-based Muslim group is criticizing the scaled-back version of President Donald Trump‘s ban on many foreign travelers that still bars new visas for people from six Muslim-majority countries and temporarily shuts down America’s refugee program.

The Islamic Society of North America based in the Indianapolis suburb of Plainfield says the new ban does nothing to protect the U.S. and “punishes the vulnerable, particularly immigrants and refugees.”

A statement issued by the society Tuesday says the ban harms the U.S. economy by denying companies and academic institutions with talented scholars and employees. It says the ban also serves to legitimize Islamophobia and xenophobia that has led to recent violence against Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs.

The society says claims to be the largest and oldest Islamic umbrella organization in North America.

So which is it? Does it “punishes the vulnerable, particularly immigrants and refugees.” or does it “harms the U.S. economy by denying companies and academic institutions with talented scholars and employees”?

If they want to know what fuels islamophobia all they have to do is look at the news of the horror that is the middle-east and what the ‘refugees’ have done to formerly civilized cities in Europe. If they wanted to improve our view of their organization then they should be supporting sensible immigration restrictions and denouncing jihad. Or maybe serve up a Mohammed cartoon cake to show everyone they have a sense of humor…
