Drivers have to re-learn how to drive in winter weather Monday morning

Monday morning was a crash course in winter driving around Michiana.

There were 29 collisions in Elkhart County alone, two of them resulting in injuries, as well as 7 calls of vehicles that were either stuck in a ditch or had slid off the roadway.

The US-20 bypass, especially, was troublesome Monday morning. Most of the incidents on local roads have been attributed to driving the speed limit when it was too fast for conditions.

Law enforcement officials remind you to use caution when driving in snowy conditions, and allow extra time so you can slow down and get there safely.
