Michigan City police continue to investigate shooting that left one dead, one hospitalized

Police in Michigan City are saying the victim of a shooting Tuesday night was a 15-year-old girl.

The shooting happened at around 8:45 p.m. near the intersection of Grace and Holiday Streets, according to a press release.

A suspect opened fire on a car that had two adults, 15-year-old Kamilion Jenkins, and a baby inside. That same car showed up to the police department after the shooting, according to police.

Jenkins died at the hospital despite receiving immediate medical attention. A 28-year-old woman was also injured and taken to the hospital.
