A man is facing charges of child exploitation and child pornography after his wife reportedly discovered images on his cellphone.

Timothy Lynn Pratt, 22, of 203 E. Pearl St., Syracuse, was arrested Saturday afternoon. He has since bonded out of jail.

Syracuse police responded to Pratt’s residence after his wife called and reported he was threatening to kill himself, according to court records.

Pratt’s wife told police she had discovered child pornography on his cellphone. She gave the images to officers.

Officers spoke with Pratt, who said he wasn’t going to kill himself.

Police say they found several texts and images shared between Pratt and an underage girl.
According to police, Pratt would ask the girl to do sexual favors and send him nude photos.

The girl told Pratt she was a underage, according to court records.

Police say Pratt told them he knew it was wrong to continue speaking to the girl once he knew her age, but that he had an addiction to pornography.

Pratt gave police permission to search his laptop, iPhone and computer hard drive. Police say they found about 30 images of girls who appeared to be underage on the devices.
