Polish sausage mixes with politics on Dyngus Day

(Photo supplied/ABC 57)

The Monday after Easter marks Dyngus Day. Michiana and several other communities in the U.S. celebrate in grand style. Locally, the day mixes the Polish holiday with politics and serves as the kick-off of the Indiana political season.

The St. Joseph County Democratic Party is among the organizations which has scheduled a full day’s worth of events and candidate appearances. Sen. Joe Donnelly is expected to make an appearance at the West Side Democratic Club today.

For a list of events throughout South Bend and Michiana, check out the Dyngus Day South Bend Facebook page.
