Man arrested, suspected of child abuse of a 3-month-old child

A man in Berrien County is charged with child abuse after a 3-month-old child was found with critical head injuries.

Michigan State Police troopers were called to investigate at a home in Weesaw Township.

Officers say the child had critical injuries to the skull.

The child is being evaluated at a hospital and is in stable condition.

Bradley Penley, 33, was charged with child abuse, assault and a probation violation.

During his arraignment on Friday, April 21,  Penley’s bail was set at $1 million dollars.

Penley has 15 prior convictions on his criminal record, according to WNDU.

Who leaves their children alone with these people? That right there is abuse.
