The Jefferson Centre in Downtown South Bend will be getting a $2 million face lift soon.

A Florida investor is injecting cash into the 91-year-old building after recently buying it from his father, according to the South Bend Tribune.

City officials hail this as another positive sign for downtown real estate.

There will be exterior improvements that vary from fresh paint and canopies to window framing and masonry improvements. The building will also get new elevators, a renovated lobby, upgraded restrooms, a better electrical system and more.
