Local student awarded Indiana Sheriff’s Association scholarship

Northridge High School graduate Allyson Osterday was awarded with a $500 scholarship from the Indiana Sheriff’s Association.

As a recipient of this scholarship, Osterday plans to attend Indiana University South Bend where she will major in social work with a minor in criminal justice, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department.

While in high school, Allyson was also an active member of the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department Explorers.

In order to qualify for an Indiana Sheriff’s Association scholarship applicants should be an active affiliate or associate member of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association or a dependent child or grandchild of an active member or associate member of the association, be an Indiana resident, attend an Indiana college or university, major in a law enforcement field, and enroll as a full-time student.
