Man arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving after serious injury crash

A man was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after a crash that seriously injured a 35-year-old Osceola woman.

The collision happened around 11 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at the intersection of State Road 2 and Tulip Road in western St. Joseph County, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.

26-year-old Eric Johnson was driving south on Tulip when police believe he ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle traveling west on Tulip, the sheriff’s department reported.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Johnson suffered minor injuries.

The Fatal Alchohol Crash Team is still investigating the collision.
