Missing 5 year-old child found dead in pond in Goshen

A 5-year-old boy was found dead in a pond in Goshen.

Officers from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department and fire crews were called to the 62000 block of County Road 37 just after 8 p.m. on Friday, May 12, on the report of a missing child.

A search was made on the property which included a small pond.

The child, who was identified as Jacob Miller, was found dead in the pond due to an apparent drowning.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s Detectives and the Elkhart County Coroner’s office are continuing their investigation into this incident.

So, the property included a small pond but the police were called to go find him? Why would that not be one of the first places you’d go look?
