Two firefighters taken to hospital after fighting building fire in Elkhart

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after fighting at a vacant building in Elkhart.

The blaze happened on Sunday afternoon, May 14, in the 2800 block of Oakland Avenue, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

Traffic on County Road 20 was backed up for about an hour due to the fire and responding crews, ABC 57 reported.

Smoke could be seen several miles away during the height of the blaze.

So far, there is no word on the cause of the fire.
