A LaPorte woman had to be flown to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of severe injuries caused by the family dog.
The woman and her 2-year-old son were attacked Tuesday. The woman’s bite injuries to her right arm were so severe, some of her bone was exposed and a belt was needed to be used as a tourniquet to slow the profuse bleeding, according to the South Bend Tribune.
The woman had to undergo surgery after being airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital. Her left arm was also bitten, but she still has full use of it. She’s expected to recover along with her son, who was bitten in the face by their pit bull mix.
The dog was put down later that night. The family had owned the dog since it was a puppy and up until now, hadn’t shown any aggressive tendencies towards her and her son, according to the South Bend Tribune.
The son did not require hospitalization and is staying with family.

I think the owner of a pit bull that bites someone should be charged with attempted murder. Owning a pit bull is no different than randomly shooting a gun into a crowd…Someone is going to get hit (bit) eventually. Pit Bulls are so in bread that the breed itself is worthless. I also have to think anyone that would want a pit bull has no common sense and is obviously too stupid to know any better. This is one time that having an animal go extinct would be a good thing. Maybe the type of people that would own them could also go extinct!
You can’t smoke near anyone because the second hand smoke is a health risk…(what a crock) but any moron can have an in bread, mentally retarded pit bull that will undoubtedly bit someone. Our society is ruled by total idiots and the ruled are right behind them for IQ points!
