Elkhart Police have made an arrest after a deadly shooting at the Menards store on East Windsor Avenue.

Officers were called to the store around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, according to Elkhart Police Sgt. Chris Snyder.

The victim, Jared Foltz, 20, was found shot to death in a Jeep in the parking lot.
Investigators said Foltz was “targeted” by the suspect, according to Snyder.

Officers spoke to witnesses who were able to describe the vehicle the suspect drove off in.

A short time later deputies with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department located and stopped the vehicle in the area of County Road 17 and County Road 6, Snyder said.

The suspect, Jarrod Spigutz, 18, of Bristol, was detained and arrested on a preliminary murder charge, as well as possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun without a permit.
